Lord Wandsworth College

YBC has provided a range of services to this client since 1999, including labour for cleaning duties, housekeeping, portering services, catering support services, and the supply of summer staff for external guests to enjoy the facilities when the children break up.

As Lord Wandsworth College is one of our longest clients, the management for this contract sits at Director level with our Business and Operations Director, Kellie Pennicard, personally overseeing the overall running of the contract. Kellie regularly visits the site to meet with the Site Team and the College’s Cleaning Manager, allowing her to identify and adapt our service provision to flexibly meet all of the service requirements across the estate campus.

Lord Wandsworth College is situated very remotely so staff recruitment, and retention, is a key part of our success. Our staff are a combination of full-time and part-time workers, so we provide staff transport to and from the College throughout the working day, from a wide catchment area, to ensure we can fully meet the College’s needs. Several members of our workforce have worked for YBC for over 20 years and this level of commitment and loyalty to both the College and YBC is fundamental for us to provide a first-class, personalised service.

All our staff are fully trained across a number of service disciplines, enabling YBC to deliver considerable ‘Added Value’ to the College. Our staff are utilised across the whole site and cover multiple duties such as portering services and housekeeping. Training has been an essential part of our staff development both in terms of improving the work skills of our team and making them adaptable to work duties. All our staff are DBS checked to an enhanced level, and we ensure we have a pool of backup staff that we can call on when we have absences and requests for additional support.

Our successful contract with Lord Wandsworth College over the years has been built on our transparency and flexibility to meet the needs of the College, as well as the hard work of all our staff on site. Most staff employed for this contract have worked with us since it started and have become as much a part of the College as they have YBC.
