Robert May's School

Robert May's School is a coeducational secondary school, catering to students aged 11 to 16, embodying a vision of ‘excellence for every person’.  Since our contract first began in March 2018, we have consistently delivered high-quality and reliable cleaning services tailored to the school’s unique needs.

Robert May’s School is based in the village of Odiham, which presents challenges due to its remote location. To address these challenges, we have implemented our sustainable minibus service whereby we transport staff to and from the school who live in various surrounding locations. This business model serves as an incentive to retaining experienced staff members who are familiar with the site and belong to the School Community. Our strategic approach has been successful in overcoming staffing challenges at multiple remote sites and in ensuring the presence of a dependable and hardworking cleaning team on-site.

Prior to our involvement in 2018, the school engaged a different contractor who had failed to address the school’s specific cleaning service needs, particularly with local recruitment difficulties, and YBC were asked to step in to recover the situation at very short notice. At that time there was a serious concern that the school might have to close certain building blocks due to hygiene issues and concerns and we were able to quickly turn matters within all areas.

During the pandemic, Robert May’s School informed us of an outbreak of COVID-19 at the school and requested a full disinfection of the school. In less than 24 hours, we mobilised a specialist mobile cleaning team to attend the school and carry out a full disinfection. For the disinfection, we used our electrostatic UV spray guns combined with our anti-viral disinfectant, Selgiene Extreme, which kills viruses effectively. With our fast and proactive response, guided by BICSc-endorsed practices, we were able to bring hygiene standards back up, providing reassurance to students, staff, and parents. Moreover, we ensured minimal disruption to the school’s operations as they were able to resume as normal the following day.
